Stick 'em with a fork and call it over.

Yesterday's show, 6-25-12, was atrocious - you could cut the tension with a fork and their normal enthusiasm has evaporated.

Mark announced that he is retiring this coming October, 2012, but I don't think that Brian is too happy with that decision. Also, judging by yesterday's show I seriously doubt they'll even do another show - they're doing past moments AGAIN today.

As far as I know they are on vacation for the next 2 weeks and what you heard yesterday was past moments. so how could there be any tension? Brian is not pissed. He was ready to hang it up 3 years ago.

Apparently, even though I've listened to the boys since '87 I'm not quite as in touch as some of you other fans are. Sincerely sorry :(

I think it was probably my own emotions coloring what I was hearing because I just found out about Mark leaving, and yes, I did not know it was past moments yesterday - but I usually do.

Egg on my face and all that, I'll still miss 'em.

On a different note, I've always felt that Brian was the brains and the comedy anyway, but Mark's infectious laugh is irreplaceable and if Brian stays I think he'll make one hell of an effort to stay on top !!!

On a totally different note - the new format TOTALLY SUCKS. What's up with playing songs all the way through instead of just as a bumper ???? I've heard all these songs WAY too many times and I only listen to KLOS for the entertainment value of Mark and Brian.

I do think that Brian (along with Eric) is responsible for most of the
bits. But the way Mark does it all with "cold reads" and his laugh
and sense of humor are really what sets the two of them apart in my
opinion.

It's funny because a local (Bay Area) morning show mentioned Mark's
retirement and one of the hosts' comment was along the lines of, "That
dude was a radio genius and the driving force of that show".

I think that is just for the past moments shows. It essentially lets
them air 2 or 3 fewer segments of the show so I assume that is just
easier.

It's Danny being lazy with past moments.

Their past moments are not so in the past and their better moments
seem to be few and far between. Combine that with the number of days
out of the studio in a given year and their 'best' past moments get
played way to frequently. I'm not sure if it's laziness or poor
quality to work with.
The best way to tell if it's past moments is when they come out of a
commercial break. If it's live, they will give the phone number, if
it's past moments, they don't.
Today, it was Denise doing the news, yesterday and Monday it was the
other chickie, yet during the show, you hear the cow talking.
I'm wondering what's going to happen after Mark leaves and Brian is
out 'sick' and they haven't had enough past moments with Brian's new
partner. Are they going to continue to replay bits with Mark in it?

He hung it up way before that!
