I just received word that Miracle passed away this morning.

I am incredibly sad. For whatever you all think of her, for me, she was a
wonderful, wonderful friend and I am going to miss her terribly.

I did call Daniel, but I don't know if he has been in to Tribes in a while.
However, since Bryan is the one who let me know, I'm guessing that he is
going to let them all know. Ross is doing okay. I called him right after I
got the news. He is very sad, kind of lost and I think in a way relieved,
this has been a long, hard struggle for both of them. I made him promise to
call me if he needed anything and he said that he would, but overall, I
guess that he is doing okay.

Thanks for the update Cathy. Am glad to hear Ross is doing ok. Going through
life with someone with cancer depletes so much from everyone involved. Then
you feel guilty for it being over.

Carrie (My Dad passed away from lung cancer and he lived with me and my then
husband for the last few years of his life. The thing I remember mostly (it
was 26 years ago) was that I felt guilty because he wouldn't eat....like I
could have made him)

That is so very sad. Yes she will be missed. As a side note to what Kevin
said, sometimes there are people we wish we could or would have made up
with, cleared any bad air, or just let others know we appreciated them and
who they were. We should honor Miracle by doing this. Think about someone in
your life that you have something you want to say. Don't wait. It might be
too late very soon.

Miracle made me very welcome when I started here. I remember at the last
picnic she was at, all the arts and crafts she brought with her. My son got
a kick out of them and made his girlfriend a bracelet. He still talks about
that.

Ross, I am very sorry for your loss,

Oh, my. We were gone for the weekend and I just saw this. I'm so
sorry to hear it. We got a cute package of homemade gift tags from
her last Christmas and, like Dez, I noticed that it smelled (strongly)
of smoke and I was sad because I knew she had lung cancer and that
this might be the last I'd hear from her.

Agreed, but I know how hard it is to give up one's habits. I still drink
too much coffee and eat too much fat. My dad died of smoking-enhanced lung
and heart issues when I was a teen. (I hadn't connected it until now, but
he died at about the same age as Miracle, who I think of as a long-lost
sister.)

They are now saying that if you still smoke when you get lung cancer,
it's almost better to keep smoking than to quit because of the added
stress on the body when you quit. Both people I know that have died
of lung cancer, (my dad and a former co-worker) quit smoking years
before they were diagnosed. Sometimes you get the disease even after
you quit.

It's been almost a year since my last cigarette, and I really notice
the smell on my clothes after a trip to the casino. Smokers probably
think non-smokers are just picky when they complain about the smell,
but if they were away from cigarettes for even a month, they'd have
the same complaints.

I just received word that Miracle passed away this morning.
I am incredibly sad. For whatever you all think of her, for me, she was a
wonderful, wonderful friend and I am going to miss her terribly.

Hey everyone,

Bryan contacted me last week with the same info. I too am very sad.
Miracle was always very nice to me and my family. She walked to the
beat of another drummer for sure, but she was unique. My thoughts and
prayers are with Ross.

Take care everyone.

Hey Joe, it's nice to see you check in with us. It's been a long, long
time. One thing that is nice, we are hearing from people that we have not
heard from in a while and I, personally, am very glad for it. Thank you.

It's funny, I think about you whenever I see the CD's that I got from you.
They are still my A-rotation for the holidays, that's for sure!!!

Oh I LOVE kumquats. they look like baby tiny oranges. Any time you see a
tree, run and grab one. They can be very expensive at the store. My mom had
a tree and she made delicious marmalade. But to just eat them you need to
pop the whole fruit in your mouth (for anyone who hasn't seen one, they are
about 1" in diameter) and eat the fruit whole, skin and insides. The juice
inside is tart and the skin is sweet, so there is a mixture of tastes.
Yummy!!!

I would love you to bring them to me. Then we can go to the all you can eat

fresh are all friendly. Wait, was I talking about kumquats or fish? I just
got home, and put a roast with veggies in the crock pot. It smells yummy and
I'm hungry, so I'm going to eat. And try to get my brain some food so it
doesn't mumble all my thoughts. Ok, I know it really doesn't matter, nothing

LOL! Well, there really isn't a lot of fruit left over. Let's just say
that it's like ringing the dinner bell for the squirrels around here.
However, we have an understanding, the rodents and I. I get the fruit
towards the bottom of the tree and they can have the stuff on the top of the
tree. Having a dog that can jump almost 6 feet straight up in the air
definitely keeps the rules in place, too.
The texture is like a pear and the flavor is almost like a cross between and
apple and a pear.

Well, in my wanderings around the yard digging holes and such, I noticed
that the loquat tree is going to bloom again soon, so in a few months we can
go sit out in the yard and pitch pits around again. I hope that this doesn't
screw up my lawn.......hmmm......where can I get a big "hair net" for that
tree?
With the loquats it is almost impossible to sell them on the market. The
minute you pick them you should eat them because otherwise, they just start
going bad and they are not fruit that ripen too well off the tree. I guess
that is why so many people HAVE the trees because it is one of those things
you can't get in the store.

Hmm, interesting. I must have a different breed of tree because mine
doesn't have any thorns at all. It's a dwarf and it's located in a big
pot right now. I'm considering putting it into the ground, maybe this
winter. Seems every time I transplant one of my citrus trees we get a
heat wave the following week, so I want to wait long enough to make sure
that doesn't happen.

Hey Bruce, nice to see you!!!!
Yah, it's a shame you never got to meet her in person, it would have
definitely been something that you would have never forgotten. :-)

I just received word that Miracle passed away this morning.
I am incredibly sad. For whatever you all think of her, for me, she was a
wonderful, wonderful friend and I am going to miss her terribly.

I just heard about this from Beerman. I wish I could have met her in
person. Ross, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.
Also thanks to Chris as I almost put my foot in my mouth in the
fantasy football league.
